Tomato Red Fig

← Part of Vegetables, Diggers Club

The red brother to Beams Yellow Pear takes its name from the similarly shaped long neck and fig-shaped form. Because the fruits of common figs ripen quickly, the name Red fig was coined a hundred years ago to describe tomatoes theat were picked and preserved as ‘tomato figs’. They store well, plus look good in salads and on the bush. Fruits in 8 weeks from transplant and keeps on going for months. Yields 6-10kg per plant.
