Alyssum – flowers have a slightly sweet and peppery flavour similar to Kale.

Cosmos – flowers will add zest to your meal by adding bright splashes of colour and young leaves can be added to salads.

Nasturtium – young tender leaves and flowers have a zippy peppery flavour.

Sunflower – steamed buds taste like Artichoke, petals have a distinctly bittersweet flavour.

These versatile flowers prefer well drained soils and should be fed regularly during the growing season. Water regularly.
