Birds are destroying some of my trees and shrubbery, how do I deter them?
It can be extremely difficult to remove most species once they’ve taken up residence in a habitat. As soon as you notice them, try making loud noises or spray them with water to scare them off, make their life as uncomfortable as possible without causing harm.
You can also try tying CDs to branches with string as a deterrent – the light refraction from a foreign object is often enough to make them decide against nesting in the area. Putting up a scarecrow is another option. Do not put seed out for them.
