I am having so much trouble with weeds. How can I stop them from growing without damaging my garden?
Unfortunately there are a wide variety of declared weeds in southeast Queensland, a list of which you can find below. The best rule of thumb to eradicate most species is to spray the foliage with a water-based herbicide to destroy any spores or other plant matter. Once the weed has begun to whither and dies, dispose of it completely ensuring you remove all traces of the root. The earlier you catch them growing the easier they are to keep at bay, so remain vigilant and act fast. A great way to keep weeds away is to put thick layers of newspaper down and then cover with mulch.
