A good source of fibre, folate and calcium as well as being loaded with magnesium. One medium sized artichoke proves around 75-80 mg of magnesium.

Care: Ready for harvest in second and subsequent years, the buds should be harvested whilst still tender and tight, at around 5-10cm in diameter. Mulch and water throughout the warmer months when flowering has finished. Cut plants back to 30cm in Autumn and apply a side dressing of fertiliser. Prune back to about 4 or 5 of the strongest shoots in readiness for next Spring.
