The New Year brings exciting possibilities for your garden! January is the ideal time to get into your garden and start planting. With all this lovely rain we have had it is time for mulching. Lucerne mulch is great for your vegie patch as it puts nitrogen into the soil which vegies love! Lucerne mulch is available from the retail nursery.
Now is also a great time to revamp your patios and pergolas with some of our beautiful indoor foliage plants.
I have compiled a list of vegetables and herbs to be planted now, ready for harvest from March to July. Pop into the retail nursery to pick up some of these great vegetables along with helpful information and hints for preparing and planting your garden.
Perfect for planting now are Peas, Beans (Climbing & Bush), Beetroot, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Carrots, Chives, Coriander, Cucumber, Leeks, Lettuce, Oregano, Parsley, Pumpkin, Rocket, Silverbeet, Squash, Sunflowers and Sweet Corn.
