Grape Red Globe

← Part of Sweet Taste, Fruits

Deciduous vine that needs support on trellis, pergola or wires. Grown for bunches of pinkish red fruit that is very large, round and seeded. The grapes have a thick skin, fleshy pulp and a very sweet taste. Young leaves can be used in cooking and vines grown over pergola make excellent shade. Eat fresh or dried grapes or use in wine making.

Will grow in most free-draining garden soils in a sunny site. Grapes don’t need over-rich soil as this produces foliage not fruit. Water regularly by deep soaking in hot weather. Prune vines in Winter.
