After an extra-long second term, the holidays are here! Time for some green-time to get the kids away from the screens and out and about enjoying lovely Winter days.
We’ve found some amazing walks around southeast Queensland and the kids are loving exploring the natural environment right on our doorstep. You can find our list right here – we hope you enjoy the walks as much as we have!
For activities at home, there’s nothing better than letting the kids get a little down and dirty in the garden. Get them to help with mulching and planting – a garden space of their own where they can plant some Winter vegie seedlings will get them interested in eating vegies too! We’ve got a planting calendar to show them what they can plant over the next couple of months, and there’s a great range of vegies in stock now at your local hardware or nursery. Let the kids choose their own plants and see their delight when they can pick the vegies and flowers they have grown themselves.
We’ve got some cute activities for those cooler days when it’s not so nice outside too. Grab some cheap wooden spoons or recycle some from the kitchen which have seen better days, and let the kids make their own garden markers or try some delicious Winter recipes. Fairy gardens are so much fun and will keep them busy for hours.
Enjoy the holidays!
