Packed full of minerals including calcium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus, a good source of protein, essential fatty acids and dietary fibre as well as being high in Omega-3s. The enzymes in chia aid in the digestion of other foods.

Care: Plant in sunny position in well-drained soil. A hardy plant which requires little watering. Provide a layer of mulch to supress weeds. Being quite versatile it can be harvested at different stages. The sprouts can be cut and used in salads, the leaves can be harvested for a relaxing and therapeutic tea or the seeds can be harvested and dried when most of the petals have fallen but before the heads have turned brown.
